HALLOWEEN PARTY:
The second annual Halloween Party was held in the beautiful auditorium of the Merrick Grammar School on Saturday Evening, October 31, 1936. Approximately three hundred persons, most of whom were our own students, enjoyed the evening's activities, Mr. George L. Pritchard was chairman of the Halloween Party Committee.
Mrs. Wellington C. Mepham, Mr. Clarence J. Walker, Mrs. E. Nock Smith, Mr. Clyde A. Trueblood, and Mr. Alfred J. Goldberg were on hand to select the prettiest, funniest, and most original costumes. The judges' problem was difficult as a large number of varied costumes were on display. Eventually prizes were distributed by our host, Mr. Alfred J. Goldberg, President of the Merrick Board of Education,
During the evening various games were played by those students who were not interested in dancing. These activities were conducted by Mr. Herman A. Tennant, Miss Agnes M. Berwind, Miss Felice M. Gunther, Miss Anne E. Williams and Miss Helena M. Ubelle.
At 11 P.M, refreshments (cider and jelly doughnuts) were served in the cafeteria.
